To help customers recover from Hurricane Michael’s devastation, Comcast today announced it is suspending billing for customers located in the hardest hit areas within its Florida Panhandle service area, including impacted areas of Panama City and Marianna. The service credit is retroactive to October 10, when Hurricane Michael made landfall. The company said it is continuing to assess network damage from the storm and may expand its service credits to help additional customers in the area.
Comcast also said it is suspending several account fees, including late payment and missing equipment fees for all impacted customers, and will replace damaged or missing equipment for free. In addition, for impacted Xfinity Mobile customers, Comcast is providing a courtesy credit to cover the outstanding balance on the customer’s account for each of the next three months.
Comcast has also established a special website for customers who need assistance or have questions about their Xfinity services or equipment. Customers can fill out a simple online form, and a team member will reach out to help. Customers can request for their services to be suspended, request credit for service outages, report down lines, order new equipment and more.
