Comcast Business Sponsors Panel of Innovative Women Leaders in the Tech Industry

Presenters at the Women in Technology Panel event.

As a supportive and engaged telecommunications company, Comcast Business recently sponsored the Women in Technology Panel event in Brickell with the Greater Miami and the Beaches Hotel Association at Expedia Inc. Florida headquarters.

Mindy Kramer, vice president of public relations for Comcast in Florida, welcomed guests and shared details about the company’s commitment to supporting South Florida’s growing tech community by offering advanced digital and telecommunications services.

Tech companies are investing in Miami’s emerging technology hub by making significant strides – including building new branches, recruiting out of state talent and launching startups. Miami’s tech evolution is also paving the way for women leaders and entrepreneurs to prosper, in addition to developing new growing needs for advanced telecommunications services. Comcast Business saw the opportunity for improvement and expanded its fiber network to Miami and Miami Beach, delivering high-speed services to Miami’s business, hospitality and tech industries.

Lead by moderator and local business writer Nancy Dahlberg, the panel of tech industry women leaders discussed their diverse career paths, tech experiences, challenges and their advice for young women considering entering the tech industry. From cruise lines to travel technology companies, various industries were represented:

  • Parminder Batra, CEO, TraknProtect
  • Nashara Frazier, Director, Market Management, Expedia Group
  • Kristen Kostis, Director of Sales, TravelClick, an Amadeus Company
  • Martha Poulter, Chief Information Officer, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.

The group shared their insights on how they found themselves in the tech space, the current challenges and advantages women face in tech, and the tech trends of the future. Martha Poulter, Chief Information Officer, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd, highlighted the importance of using technology to improve both the client and employee experience in the cruise industry.

“We see technology as one of our three key pillars of our strategy for the next five years,” said Poulter. “We are trying to free up time for our guest services and delivery teams to be able to deliver fast service. We want to allow our crew to do what they do best, which is engage with guests. The more we can do to free them up, the more opportunities they have to engage and connect with guests resulting in positive reviews and guest experiences.”

While efficiency and effectiveness have always been at the forefront of operations for Comcast Business, the company has also innovated its client relations and services by personalizing services to each business. Parminder Batra, CEO of TraknProtect, touched upon the significance of creating “efficient pathways” and customizing each pathway for every business.
