Comcast’s Partnership with Suits for Seniors Continues to Advance Digital Equity in Palm Beach County
Comcast sponsors scholarship breakfast and donates laptops
As part of Project UP and its mission to create a future of unlimited possibilities, Comcast sponsored Suits for Seniors’ 2nd Annual “I Think I Can” Scholarship Breakfast recently in West Palm Beach. The breakfast celebrated the achievements of scholarship recipients and raised money to fund higher-education related expenses.
Suits for Seniors is a West Palm Beach-based nonprofit that emphasizes the importance of education, personal finance and professionalism to high school students and supports them in achieving their post-graduation goals.
In March, Comcast donated 20 laptops to the organization during its 4th Annual Golf and Give Charity Game. These laptops were handed out at the breakfast to scholarship recipients to set them up for success as they continue to navigate an increasingly digital world.
Comcast has a longstanding commitment to advancing digital equity. Internet Essentials, the company’s signature digital equity program, has connected more than 10 million people from low-income households to the Internet at home since it launched in 2011.
Additionally, in 2022, Comcast reaffirmed its dedication to bridging the digital divide by pledging $1 billion over the next 10 years to the cause through its Project UP initiative. This pledge includes not only connecting people to the Internet, but also promoting digital literacy and overall access to technology.
