Comcast recently sponsored Lee County’s Industry Appreciation Awards Finalists Banquet where the nominees for 2023 awards were announced. The banquet was chaired by Lee County Commissioner Ray Sandelli.
In its 30th year, the Industry Appreciation Awards honors businesses that support the local economy, employ those living in its communities, and shape their industries. Awards for Large/Small Business of the Year, Diversity in Business and Nonprofit Partnership recognize the achievements of local businesses and honor their commitments to Lee County residents. Alta, a local company supplying customer care services to its clients, also sponsored the banquet.
Among the newly announced nominees for Large Business of the Year is Pink Shell Beach Resort, a full-service beachfront resort in Fort Myers and Comcast Business customer. Despite being devastated by Hurricane Ian just one year prior, the resort has been able to grow its business and near completion on various renovation efforts, including tinted windows to prevent newly hatched turtles from mistaking the building for the sea. General Manager Bill Waichulis said Comcast Business played an integral role in restoring Pink Shell’s services.
