This will serve as a final update. Our dedicated teams of technicians have worked around the clock to restore Internet services. We’re happy to report the vast majority of impacted Comcast Business and Xfinity customers are now back online. As cleanup efforts continue across North Florida, there is a possibility of isolated service interruptions. Our crews will work rapidly to address those.
We know just how important the Internet is to keep in touch with loved ones and receive the news. To help, Comcast has opened more than 40,000 Xfinity WiFi hotspots for everyone to use, free of charge. To find the nearest hotspot location in your city, please search the WiFi Hotspot Map. Enter your zip code, zoom in on the interactive map to view the results, and click on the locations for details.
We extend a sincere thank you to our teams on the ground for all their hard work and to our customers for their patience during and after the storm.

Our response teams have made great progress overnight as they have been working around the clock to restore connectivity to our customers impacted by Debby.
With severe weather restoration, power and debris crews may inadvertently cut temporary fiber lines which would cause intermittent outages. We apologize for the inconvenience, and we are repairing and restoring our lines as quickly as possible. If you are experiencing service interruptions, we have opened more than 40,000 public Xfinity WiFi hotspots to help you get back online. To find the nearest location to you, please search the WiFi Hotspot Map. Enter your zip code, zoom in on the interactive map to view results, and click on the locations for details.

As power is being restored across the area affected by Hurricane Debby, the majority of our customers should also see their services return. If customers have electricity but not Xfinity services, Comcast recommends restarting or resetting devices, including wireless gateways, modems, routers, and cable boxes.
Here are some additional tips and safety precautions:
- Emergency management procedures dictate that electricity must be restored first and Comcast must receive clearance that it is safe for our crews to begin any restoration work. Should customers experience a loss of service due to a power outage, local power must first be restored before Xfinity services can begin working again.
- In some cases, customers may have power back but not their Xfinity services because commercial power has not been restored to our network in that area.
- We urge customers to stay safe and away from downed power lines, avoid flooded areas and obey local warnings. You can report down lines through the Xfinity app.
Monday, August 5th @ 2:00 p.m.
Comcast Business and Xfinity customers may still be experiencing service interruptions as a result of ongoing power outages. To help the community stay connected, Comcast has opened all operational Xfinity WiFi hotspots across the impacted region including Greater Jacksonville, the Tallahassee area and North Central Florida. The WiFi spots are free and available to everyone.
To find the nearest hotspot location in your city, please search the WiFi Hotspot Map. Enter your zip code, zoom in on the interactive map to view the results, and click on the locations for details.
Monday, August 5th @ 9:30 a.m.
As expected, Hurricane Debby made landfall this morning near Steinhatchee, Florida. Comcast Business and Xfinity customers in North Florida may be experiencing service interruptions due to power outages. Debby’s heavy rains and strong winds knocked out power. Once power is restored, services should come back online. If there is damage to the network, Comcast crews will start making repairs once the storm passes and it is safe to do so.
Please note that the Tallahassee Xfinity store located at 214-1 South Magnolia Drive is closed today until further notice.
Sunday, August 4th @ 11:30 a.m.
With Tropical Storm Debby now in the Gulf of Mexico, we’re closely monitoring the storm’s potential impacts to our network. Experts predict Tropical Storm Debby will intensify into a hurricane before making landfall along Florida’s Big Bend coastline tomorrow morning. Debby’s impacts are expected to be felt across much of the state as heavy rains move across the peninsula. Comcast has crews positioned in the area to respond once the storm passes. We encourage Xfinity customers to sign up for alerts, by texting START to 266278 from your mobile device.
Saturday, August 3rd @ 11:30 a.m.
We continue to monitor Tropical Depression 4 and the storm’s potential impacts to Florida. With the storm expected to develop into Tropical Storm Debby later tonight or tomorrow morning, Comcast is positioning crews and prepared to respond if there any impacts to our network.
Friday, August 2nd @ 3:00 p.m.
We’re closely monitoring the tropical weather expected to impact the state of Florida this weekend. Experts predict a disturbance will grow in intensity, potentially forming Tropical Storm Debby. Forecasters anticipate the storm will bring heavy rains to much of the state with a chance of flooding. As a result, Comcast is preparing crews across the state to respond in the event of service interruptions to our network. We encourage you and your family to stay weather-aware and follow your local news and first responders for updates.
Rest assured. Our response teams are actively analyzing weather reports, putting our emergency plans in place and ensuring our crews and supplies are ready to be safely deployed.
