An ocean breeze, sunny weather and good energy made for a picture-perfect day on Fort Lauderdale Beach this past weekend. Thousands of people, including Comcast’s Team UP volunteers, turned out for the 2025 Florida AIDS Walk. This year marked the fundraiser’s 20th anniversary. Team UP is Comcast’s always-on, 365-days-a-year volunteer program to provide employees opportunities to get more involved in the areas the company serves. Comcast’s Employee Resource Group OUT partnered with the Volunteer Action Center of Broward County to organize the Team UP activity and help ensure the event went off without a hitch.

Twelve Team UP volunteers signed up to assist with logistics and registration. They also made sure participants remained hydrated following their 5K journey. Chad Creamer, a Comcast Sales Account Executive, brought his son to the festival. He stressed the importance of contributing to your community.

“Being here is important to me. I am proud to work for a company that offers such great opportunities to engage with the community and for different causes,” Creamer said. “For me, it’s about inspiring the next generation and teaching them the value of volunteering, the joy of giving back, and the power of education and connection. I feel privileged to share experiences like this with my son and foster a spirit of community and growth together.”

The event drew an amazing crowd. Over 1,100 people and different organizations joined the walk while more than 2,300 gathered for the big post-walk celebration. The beachside festival was full of good vibes, great food, and an unforgettable set from DJ Spinderella of Salt-N-Pepa.

This year the Florida AIDS Walk & Music Festival raised more than $2.2 million and the proceeds will go to local AIDS service organizations who fight to end the epidemic in their communities every day.
