Miami’s Influential Voices Celebrate Latin Culture at Xfinity’s ‘Sabor y Tech’

The vibrant beats of Latin music and the aromas of delicious comida filled the air inside one of South Florida’s newest hot spots. Comcast and Telemundo brought together the 305’s most fabulous, influential and talented voices for a celebration of Latino culture and new technologies at Xfinity’s Sabor y Tech. More than 50 people gathered for the special event hosted in the heart of Miami’s fast-paced and colorful Brickell neighborhood.

The attendees included local social media influencers, media members, nonprofit partners and Comcast leaders. Television favorites like Telemundo’s Lourdes Stephen, Carlos Aydan and Chiky Bombom turned out for an incredible evening with Xfinity to celebrate all the ways Latinos contribute to Miami-Dade County.

One of the highlights of the evening was a panel discussion moderated by Stephen titled Live, Interactive, and Everywhere: The Future of Content. Stephen invited Comcast’s Javier Garcia to join Transmit‘s Ricardo Jose Bueso for a lively discussion about the future of streaming and digital entertainment.
“We understand how important it is to stay connected, which is why we’ve built a network optimized for speed and reliability,” Garcia said. “The Latin community isn’t just watching. They’re leading the way. From bilingual streaming preferences to a strong love for family and culture-focused content, we’re seeing this community drive major changes in how we think about entertainment.”

Sabor y Tech also included an opportunity to showcase Xfinity’s latest offerings and technology, like the bilingual voice remote. The company announced a new deal specifically designed for this community, which bundles internet, mobile and NOW TV Latino. The new streaming package includes over 30 channels of Spanish-language entertainment.
Comcast leaders Rafael Visbal and Michelle Oyola McGovern closed out the event’s programming. Visbal oversees market development for Florida. McGovern leads community investments and government affairs in the state. Visbal highlighted how Comcast actively invests in its next-generation network and that the new bundle deal is available exclusively at Xfinity stores in South Florida. McGovern shared with attendees how Comcast partners with trusted nonprofit partners to help shrink the digital divide and advance opportunity in communities throughout the area.
