Dothan’s Storytellers and Changemakers Gather for Meaningful Conversation and Celebration

On a picture-perfect October night in Dothan, Alabama, media members and community partners came together in historic downtown for an evening of celebration and connection. The gathering, hosted by Comcast, honored the individuals and organizations who help shape the stories of the Wiregrass region, recognizing their role in amplifying voices and driving meaningful change. With a warm and welcoming atmosphere inside KBC, guests enjoyed thoughtful conversation, delicious food and a shared sense of purpose.

The evening highlighted the strength of collaboration and the value of relationships built over time. As toasts were made and stories exchanged, the event served as a reminder of what’s possible when we all come together. It was a night to reflect, appreciate and look ahead to the continued impact of those committed to telling Dothan’s story.

“We’re grateful for the opportunity to celebrate the storytellers of Dothan—the media members and community partners who bring the heart of the Wiregrass region to life,” said Stefanie Bowden, Senior Manager of Community Impact, Comcast Florida. “Their dedication to sharing local voices and improving the lives of those who live here helps build a deeper sense of pride and connection across the community, and we’re proud to honor that impact.”

The next day, Comcast unveiled two new peanut sculptures as part of Dothan’s iconic “Peanuts Around Town” public art project in a celebration of local pride and community spirit. The new peanuts proudly stand outside the Xfinity Store in Dothan.
