Every year, Xfinity proudly recognizes Hispanic Heritage Month by honoring the vibrant traditions and voices that shape our communities. This year was no different. The tech leader hosted a full day of engaging events in Miami that blended culture, connection, and of course, fútbol. The festivities brought together locals from the community, media, content creators, influencers, nonprofit partners and elected leaders. All joined in to celebrate the impact of the Hispanic community and its deep roots in South Florida.

Virtual Broadcast: La Cancha en Casa

The celebration kicked off at the Telemundo Center with a special broadcast called Cultura, Conexión y Fútbol. The program was moderated by the Lead Premier League Host for all Telemundo Deportes coverage, Carlota Vizmanos, and featured Latin trailblazers like superstar sportscasters Andrés Cantor and Luis Omar Tapia. Comcast’s Sr. VP of Multicultural Strategy Javier García also served as a guest speaker on the panel. The trio discussed the ways in which soccer brings families together and why the sport holds such a special place in the Hispanic community.

The conversation touched on Xfinity’s recently launched World Soccer Ticket, which is a first-of-its-kind offering for the sport’s enthusiasts. The new package brings together over 1,500 matches from the world’s top leagues, plus next year’s FIFA World Cup, all in one place.

“If I had to describe soccer in just one word, it would be inclusiveness. For Hispanic communities, fútbol is more than a pastime, it’s a shared experience that connects generations, cultures, and countries,” Garcia said. “That’s why we created the World Soccer Ticket, to bring fans closer to the game they love. It’s about making sure everyone has access to the matches in the language they speak and the way they celebrate.”

Community Festival: Nuestro Juego, Nuestra Herencia

After the broadcast, the festivities continued at a local Miami Xfinity store, where members of the community were treated to an afternoon of music, food from local vendors, games, gifts, and plenty of surprises for guests of all ages. Over 200 people visited throughout the day to celebrate the end of Hispanic Heritage Month.

The team transformed the shopping center’s parking lot into a bright festival space. The highlight of the afternoon was a custom-built mini soccer field, where families and fans gathered to play friendly matches, take part in interactive games, and win prizes. The small field quickly became the heart of the celebration, bringing people together through the shared joy of soccer. It was a lively, inclusive experience that turned an everyday space into a place of connection and joy.

Store Redesign: A New Era of Service in Español

While the community enjoyed the entertainment outside, a special reception was held inside the store in partnership with the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. The gathering brought together nonprofit partners, local leaders, and elected officials like Sweetwater Commissioner Ian Vallencillo for an exciting announcement: the redesign of three store locations in Miami-Dade County that for the first time will offer all services and customer materials entirely in Spanish.

Nicholas Alvarez, Miami-Dade County’s Director of Government & Regulatory Affairs for the Comcast Florida region, emceed the VIP reception with warmth and purpose. He welcomed guests and set the tone for an afternoon rooted in celebration and community impact.

“This event is more than a ribbon cutting,” Alvarez said. “It’s a celebration of the values we share, the culture that unites us, and the deep roots we have in this vibrant community. With investments like these, we’re not just enhancing access; we’re honoring identity, fostering inclusion, and strengthening the bonds that make our neighborhoods thrive.”
