Comcast is elevating the in-store experience for Spanish-speaking customers in Miami-Dade County by redesigning three Xfinity retail locations to offer a fully Spanish-language environment. From mobile signage to personalized support, the updated stores make it easier than ever for customers to explore their connectivity options in the language they know best.

To celebrate the milestone, the technology leader hosted a lively celebration at its West Flagler store with a program that included a ribbon-cutting ceremony, delicious food and a few surprises. Community leaders, media members, nonprofit partners and social media influencers attended the event. The speakers included Sweetwater Commissioner Ian Villancillo.

Jackie Guerry-Maybeck, who leads sales and marketing for Comcast’s Florida Region, kicked off the celebration. She spoke about the importance of meeting customers where they’re at and in the language that’s most comfortable for them.

“This is a big step forward, not just for our business but for our community,” Guerry Maybeck said. “Miami-Dade is one of the most vibrant, diverse places in the country. This store redesign is a celebration of that richness and culture. We want to make sure that every customer walking through these doors feel welcomed.”

One of the highlights of the event was when Liliam M. Lopez, President and CEO of the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, gave Comcast a special recognition. She praised the company for its long-standing partnership and for setting a strong example of how companies can support and uplift the Hispanic community.

South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce President & CEO, Liliam M. Lopez, presents a special recognition to Comcast for the company’s investment in the community.

“The unveiling of three redesigned Xfinity stores, now fully in Spanish, is more than a business update. It’s a powerful statement about inclusion and opportunity,” Lopez said. “When a company like Comcast listens, adapts, and invests in our community, it shows that we matter. These stores are gateways to technology and growth. For our families and small businesses, access in their own language makes a real difference.”

To further demonstrate the company’s deep ties to Miami-Dade County, Comcast invited long-time partner Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami to join the fun. Jeff Buzzelli, Senior Vice President for Comcast’s Florida Region, announced the organization is receiving a $20,000 grant to support their digital literacy programs for area youth. Derek Wallace and Asim Pleas accepted the check on behalf of the organization.

Wallace, Vice President of Development at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami, shared how the investment from Comcast will help teach kids of digital skills needed for today’s technology-driven world.

“Comcast has been one of our valued and longstanding partners and this is a perfect example of its commitment to the next generation of thinkers and doers,” Wallace said. “This grant will help us expand our Digital Literacy Program, which equips our young members with essential skills that have a strong focus on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Digital Arts, and Mathematics). Thanks to Comcast’s support, we can continue offering year-round programming that helps prepare kids for the modern workforce.”

After the ribbon was cut inside the store, the celebration spilled outdoors with “Nuestro Juego, Nuestra Herencia” – a vibrant community festival honoring Hispanic Heritage Month. The event was a lively tribute to the culture, contributions, and influence of Miami’s Hispanic community. Open to the public, the celebration featured a live DJ, interactive games, local food vendors, giveaways, a photo booth, and even a mini soccer field – creating a dynamic space where culture and connection came together.
