Wreaths Across America Brings Comcast Volunteers Together Across Florida to Honor Fallen Heroes
Comcast Team UP volunteers in Florida honor fallen service members
Every year, thousands of people across the country volunteer to remember and honor our veterans through Wreaths Across America, a ceremony dedicated to paying tribute to those who served and sacrificed for our freedom. This year marks the tenth consecutive year that Comcast volunteers, along with their families and friends, came together to ensure every veteran is remembered during the holiday season.
Giving Back to the Community
Andrew O’Shea was among the employees who signed up to be part of this Team UP event across the state. He is now a Construction Specialist at Comcast, but as a 6-year United States Marine Corps veteran, this moment had a personal meaning. O’Shea shared that he served in Panama during Operation Just Cause and in the two phases of the Gulf War.
“This ceremony allowed me to give back and fulfill something I truly needed.”

“Participating in Wreaths Across America was an honor,” said O’Shea. “This ceremony allowed me to give back and fulfill something I truly needed.”

Volunteering Across Florida
Volunteers with Comcast’s Veterans Network (VetNet) Employee Resource Group led the effort across Florida. Over 115 Comcast employees gathered at 8 cemeteries across the state to honor fallen service members. Participating locations included Lee County Cemetery in Fort Myers, Jacksonville National Cemetery in Duval County, South Florida National in Lake Worth Beach, Miami National Cemetery in Miami-Dade County, Kent Forest Lawn in Panama City, Forest Lawn North in Pompano Beach, Fernhill Memorial Gardens in Stuart, and Tallahassee National in Leon County. These sites were among the 5,500 locations nationwide where volunteers came together for Wreaths Across America.

A Reminder of Our Freedom
Each site provided an opportunity for volunteers to reflect, remember, and share meaningful moments with their communities. This year’s ceremonies were marked by heartfelt moments as volunteers placed wreaths and paused to reflect on the sacrifices made by service members. For many, it was an opportunity to teach younger generations about the importance of honoring those who served.
People of all ages and walks of life attended the Wreaths Across America ceremonies. Ada Arencibia was one of them. Arencibia is a Business Account Executive at Comcast in Jacksonville. She said she decided to volunteer because it is important to show gratitude and be present in a moment that reminds us of the true cost of our freedoms.
“Wreaths Across America represents something deeply personal to me: remembrance, respect, and unity.”

“Wreaths Across America represents something deeply personal to me: remembrance, respect, and unity,” said Arancibia. “It serves as a powerful reminder that every name, every wreath, and every grave represents a life lived in service. That awareness alone creates a personal connection and a deep sense of responsibility to honor them properly.”
