Comcast now has about 300 network maintenance and tech personnel working in the Panama City area to rebuild its network damaged by Hurricane Michael. The crews are continuing the rebuild work in Lynn Haven and throughout the west side of Panama City and are also now moving into the Pretty Bayou area east of 390. Comcast expects to restore services for the majority of its impacted customers in these locations by the end of November.
After completing the rebuild and restoration work in the Pretty Bayou area, Comcast crews will be working on the network to restore customers in the Hiland Park area.
In the past two weeks, Comcast has been able to rebuild more than 195 miles of new plant in these heavily impacted areas.
The Xfinity WiFi hot spot van remains in the area in Lynn Haven to provide free wireless internet service to anyone who needs it. The internet service is available and free for both Xfinity customers and non-customers. The Xfinity WiFi van is located in the Lynn Haven Walmart Supercenter parking lot daily from 9am – 5pm until further notice.
Comcast customers can also use the Xfinity Stream app, to view live TV, get weather updates and even download shows and movies to watch offline, even if they do not yet have their service restored to their home.
