Comcast Cares Day Volunteers in Fort Myers Improve Florida Baptist Children’s Homes Campus

Comcast Cares Day volunteers refinish a picinic table.

The Florida Baptist Children’s Homes and One More Child campus in Fort Myers looks a lot brighter thanks to a local partnership between the nonprofit organization, Comcast and the Florida Gulf Coast University Foundation for the 18th annual Comcast Cares Day on Saturday, May 4. Comcast Cares Day marks the culmination of the spirit of volunteerism that Comcast employees bring to life in their communities all year long.

About 200 local Comcast employees, their friends and families and community volunteers worked together to beautify the FBCH and One More Child campus in Fort Myers. Projects included yard work and gardening, pressure-washing, painting, assembling picnic benches, washing the cars of local foster families and more.

In addition, FBCH and One More Child will receive a Comcast Foundation grant on behalf of everyone who volunteered on Comcast Cares Day. To date, the Comcast Foundation has awarded more than $25 million in grants to local non-profit organizations who have served as partners on Comcast Cares Day.
