South Florida Chamber Leaders Celebrate Women in Business and Honor Comcast’s Commitment to the Community

During Women’s History Month, we celebrate the remarkable achievements and contributions of women in our country. We take time to recognize all the ways in which they continue to break barriers and shatter glass ceilings in our society. At Comcast, we’re focused on empowering women in their careers year-round.
This month, two influential organizations celebrated Comcast for its ongoing commitment to supporting women in business. On March 7th, the Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber celebrated female business leaders in Broward County at their International Women’s Day Soiree. Leaders honored Comcast with its Women’s Empowerment Champion Award.
Dawn Stagliano, Comcast’s Director of Government Affairs for Broward County, accepted the award. Stagliano said she’s seen firsthand the investments the company makes to area nonprofits.

“We’re so honored to receive this award and to be here today to celebrate women across our community,” Stagliano said. “At Comcast we’re so proud to be bringing Broward County residents, especially those in our expansion area of Coral Springs, our high-speed, reliable internet. Thank you to the chamber for this honor.”
On March 13th, leaders with the Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Palm Beach County recognized Comcast as “Business of the Year” at their 29th Annual Giraffe Awards. The event celebrates extraordinary women and companies who’ve “stuck their necks out” for the community.
Stephanie Brown, Vice President of Finance for Comcast’s Florida Region, accepted the award on behalf of the company.

“At Comcast, we’re so proud to be part of Palm Beach County. Every day, our teams are working to bring homes and businesses fast and reliable internet to connect you to the moments that matter,” said Brown. “We’ve deployed more than 15,000 miles of fiber-rich network spanning from South County to North County and out to the Glades.”
As Florida’s technology leader, Comcast’s presence spans from Key West through the Panhandle. The company is committed to the communities it proudly services including Broward County and Palm Beach County. Since 2010, Comcast invested over $34.5 million in cash and in-kind donations to different non-profits, community events, sponsorships and other initiatives in just those two counties. Additionally, Comcast provides employees resource groups such as the Women’s Network, to foster meaningful connections and provide broad opportunities within the company.
