Comcast Expands State-of-the-Art Network to Bring Fast, Reliable Internet to More Areas of Citrus County

Tech leader’s investment will bring an all-new fiber network to Inverness Highlands North
Comcast is building a new and powerful fiber network across new parts of Citrus County, Florida, getting ready to connect communities to fast, reliable Internet. Once completed, more than 4,000 new homes and businesses will be able to access Xfinity and Comcast Business services.
Comcast will build a new fiber network in Inverness Highlands North. The specific area is located South of East Perry Street, North of East Gulf to Lake Highway, West of North Crestwood Avenue and East of North Croft Avenue.

“We’re excited to see Comcast furthering their investment in Citrus County by expanding their network,” said Josh Wooten, President of the Citrus County Chamber. “Reliable, high-speed Internet is essential, whether you’re working remotely, learning online or streaming your favorite shows. Comcast’s continued expansion in our community gives residents and businesses a powerful new fiber connectivity option and reinforces why Citrus County is such an ideal place to live, work and grow a business.”
This new, next-generation network will give Citrus County access to faster Internet speeds that outperform competitors — up to 1 gigabit per second (Gbps) for residential customers and up to 100 Gbps for businesses. With this fiber-to-the-home technology, customers can access symmetrical speeds which means faster uploads than ever before.
“We’re excited to continue expanding into more areas of Citrus County and getting to know this community. We’re committed to being not just a service provider – but a trusted local partner,” said Jeff Buzzelli, Senior Vice President of Comcast’s Florida Region. “Whether it’s with Comcast Business or Xfinity services, business and homes in and around Inverness Highlands North will soon have a great connectivity option. We’re eager to earn their business with best-in-class products and services like Xfinity Mobile and Comcast Business Mobile.”
In June of last year, Comcast announced the activation of an $8 million fiber-rich network in Inverness, Hernando, Floral City and Beverly Hills.
