Beyond the majestic live oaks and charming South Florida architecture, there’s a new powerful fiber network now online in parts of Coral Terrace, South Miami and West Miami. An all-star team of installation experts, talented technicians and sales representatives like Jesenia Batista are working around-the-clock to make sure as many Miamians as possible can access the next-generation network. Their passionate work is paying off. More and more entrepreneurs and families in Miami-Dade County’s 33143 and 33155 are turning to Comcast Business and Xfinity to help with their internet needs and connect them to the moments that matter most.

Batista’s connection with South Miami runs deep, which is why her new opportunity with Comcast is a full circle moment. While she only called the city home for two years following college, Batista never really left. You can often find her with family and friends, dining on international cuisine at restaurants in the area. Batista’s kids also make sure she takes them to their favorite gaming store in the area.

Comcast’s $7.5M investment will allow people to connect to fast, reliable internet in the city of South Miami.

Batista started her new role as a Comcast Business sales representative about seven months ago. She and her team make sure small business owners know about the outstanding capabilities of Comcast’s new fiber network. Earlier this summer, the company completed a $7.5M investment infrastructure project to make it possible. Batista said she’s proud to see the technology company building a strong affinity in the area, both by a visible presence and by offering tailored solutions for entrepreneurs including Comcast Business Mobile, Connection Pro and Security Edge.

“The overall response has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Batista. “Businesses of all sizes have expressed their appreciation for the improved speeds offered because of this new fiber network. It’s allowed them to operate more efficiently and enhance their service. Our competitive pricing has made it easier for many to switch or upgrade as well.”

Bryan De Benito and Javier Caldera are two other amazing faces helping people either sign up for services or connect them to the state-of-the-art network.

De Benito is also part of the on-the-ground, client-facing sales team like Batista. De Benito, a direct sales representative for Xfinity residential services, plays a vital role in spreading the good news about the network activation. He works to educate people about the network’s impressive capabilities including faster speeds and innovative products like Storm-Ready WiFi, Xfinity X1 and Xfinity Mobile.

“My favorite part of the day is showing how great our products are and exceeding our customers’ expectations,” said De Benito. “The homes that I have visited to date love how reliable Xfinity services are, but something that I have noticed they value deeply is the collective commitment from the different Comcast teams to provide a great overall experience.”

The design, planning and execution needed for a new fiber network is as rewarding as it is complex. The Comcast Business and Xfinity sales teams’ synergy with expert technicians is crucial to ensure all customers receive best-in-class services and a stellar experience. Installation technicians like Caldera must deliver in a timely and efficient manner, especially as they encounter high demand in this new service area.

Caldera witnessed the project came to life. He said he’s excited to meet new Comcast Business and Xfinity customers, eager for the new technology.

“It’s so meaningful that a company like Comcast prioritizes investing in communities like these and making a difference in the lives of local residents and businesses,” said Caldera. “These actions are important because they genuinely show how much we care about the people we serve and the legacy we want to build as a company.”

This new, next-generation network now gives these communities access to internet speeds that outperform competitors — up to 1 gigabit per second (Gbps) for residential customers and up to 100 Gbps for businesses. With this fiber-to-the-home technology, customers can access symmetrical speeds which means faster uploads than ever before.
